Waiting at Joe’s

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Joe’s Stone Crab, I was invited to photograph the restaurant and its remarkable staff for a commemorative book, Waiting At Joe’s. While Joe’s is famous for its legendary three-hour wait, this book focuses instead on the dedication of its wait staff — lifelong servers who have become part of the restaurant's legacy, with some members working there for nearly half a century.

With full access to the restaurant, I captured and edited nearly 1,000 photos over three days, documenting the vibrant personalities and stories behind the iconic Joe’s experience. I also developed the cover concept to reflect the spirit of the staff and their unique place in the restaurant’s history. Below is a selection of photos from the project. Waiting At Joe’s is now available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and bookstores nationwide.
